Have you ever wondered why some people are skinny while others are fat or overweight? What causes this? Another question is, why is it that people who go on a diet get different results? Some are successful while others are not.
We can go on and on with a list of questions related to weight management. But in this article, we are going to focus on why people gain weight until such time that it becomes unhealthy already. Also, we are going to have a look at the simplest things that you can do to maintain a healthy weight.
Reasons for gain weight
1. Body type
People have different body types, and there are two main categories; Mesomorphic and Endomorphic. If your body type falls under mesomorphic, then you can expect that you will gain weight quickly. But the good thing about this is you will be able to shake it off quickly too. On the other hand, having an endomorphic body causes you to put weight on so fast, BUT it will take forever to get rid of it if you decide to go on a diet. You have to work really hard just so you can be healthier.
2. Hormonal imbalance
Another cause of weight gain is hormonal imbalance, particularly that of the thyroid. This part of the body has something to do with how fast or slow your metabolism is. If your thyroid is producing less T3 and T4 hormones, then you will gain weight fast. It is a condition called hypothyroidism.
3. Wrong food choices
We have all kinds of food out there, and for sure, all of them are tempting. This is why many people make unhealthy food choices, causing them to gain weight even more.
4. Sedentary lifestyle
People who don’t work are most likely to be overweight because they are inactive. As we all know, the body needs some sort of exercise, so its metabolic rate will increase. But if you are idle most of the time, then you can expect that you will put weight on.
There may be a lot of factors that can lead to weight gain, but there are also many things that you can do to solve such issues. Simple things like exercising and eating the right type of food can go a long way when it comes to addressing weight issues.
